You can optionally publish a list of categories on your namespace page, with or without password restrictions - this allows some customizability and organization.
For a few examples of where sub-pages would be useful:
- You want to have different translations of your pronoun page listed, so https://alexs.pnouns.fyi/ could point to https://alexs.pnouns.fyi/en/ and https://alexs.pnouns.fyi/es/
- You have context-specific language - you may want to suggest "boss" as a joking honorific for friends, but don't want to use language as casual at work.
Creating Sub-Pages
1. Create Categories
This guide assumes you have already created one or more categories - follow the instructions listed on Creating your first pronouns page if you haven't created categories yet.
2. Create a Nickname Page
If you have not yet created a Nickname Page, click "Create Nickname Page" inside your nickname settings.
3. Under "Sub-Pages", Select Existing Pages
Use the dropdown "Add Existing Page" to select the pages you'd like to list, and click the green "plus" icon after selecting each.
4. Update name, subtitle, and captions as desired
The page's name and subtitle are automatically imported, but you may want to customize them. For our two language pages, I want them to list the language.
For each field you want to customize, click the "Edit" icon, then select "Override" to override the imported title.
Edit the field again to write a new title.
Removing Subtitles
For this site, I don't want a subtitle listed - but you may find the subtitle and caption fields useful to distinguish pages.
You can hide the subtitle field by clicking the Settings button at the top right of each page, and unchecking "Include Subtitle".
Configure Passwords
If any of your pages have a password set, you can choose if the categories should be listed with the password so people can jump directly into the page, or if users should be prompted for a password.
Please note that page passwords are designed to offer limited protection - you are still publishing a website that can be shared, and anyone who has been given the password can share the password. Additionally, page passwords are stored in plaintext in our systems.
Any "Open" buttons that display a lock will prompt visitors for a password. Choose "Include Password" to let anyone open the page.
5. Publish Page
Click "Publish" in the top-right to publish your page - the new sub-pages will be listed.
